HOME ECONOMIST Research and Development Environment / Full Time Role

The Test Kitchen is a key part of the Breville Group Marketing department. Our mission is to enhance consumer experience for Kitchen appliances and to enhance the food and beverage knowledge amongst Breville Group staff. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated candidate with a minimum 5 years relevant food industry experience to join our Test Kitchen team. Some food styling and or cooking demonstration experience would be an advantage.

The main responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Evaluating kitchen appliances and compiling reports on performance
  • Editing of instruction books and recipes
  • Providing input into development of standards and guidelines
  • Training, presenting and demonstrating appliances and cooking techniques
  • Researching and providing insights into food trends and consumer needs
  • Recipe writing and testing
  • Assisting with new product development
  • Assisting with customer enquiries
  • Purchasing kitchen supplies

Successful applicants for the role will be confident in cookery and understand the methods and techniques involved to creating a perfect restaurant quality dish at home using one or many electrical kitchen appliances.

The ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines is also an essential part of the role as are Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office and Internet skills. The successful candidate will be able to both contribute ideas to ‘blue sky’ product development as well as being able to compiled detailed reports into a products performance.
